Hello Everyone! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

We are so thankful to have one another this Christmas year. With Fritz recovered from his tumor/brain mass there is much to be grateful for. We praise God for this miraculous work! We are joyous to celebrate this holiday season knowing that it is not the things we get, but the things we still have. How easy it is to forget what is important in a world of superfluity and false expectations.
Our country is going through hard times now. We may be suffering alongside with others economically or maybe dealing with hard times in other things. If not us, then the people around us. It is not easy to not be affected. It is good to know that no matter what we go through– in times of plenty or in times of scarcity– there is always a God that we can come to for comfort.

How are you doing? We’d like to know. Please drop by a hello or if you need prayer please contact us or leave a comment.
The story behind the pictures
We took these pictures on the way back from Fresno to Los Angeles. This peach tree orchard is just North of Bakersfield along highway 99.

We passed by several of these orchards on our way to Fresno with our friends the Stades. They are now happily relocated in the Fresno area. Between Fresno and Bakersfield are fruit bearing lands and farms. The dozens of orchards yielded beauty even in this time of year. Golden leaves were freshly fallen, leaving blankets of gold on the ground. We do not get these types of photo ops in the South Bay of Los Angeles!

On the way back from Fresno, we stopped by the side of the road next to some bee hive boxes belonging to a local apiary. Across the street were endless rows of trees with rivers of gold beneath them. After a taking the “family portrait” several times (2 boys= massive bursts of energy and stubborness), we finally got to play around in the leaves. Have you ever played around in leaves? It’s super fun! There were endless amounts of leaves to gather and throw. I felt like a kid again. I didn’t want to leave. Unfortunately we had to hit the road to Los Angles– land of not so plenty orchards with mounds of orange leaves on the ground. There’s always next time.
